Top 5 Things You Should Not Wait On!

Waiting for things in general is a task. It takes a certain discipline to nurture patience in all aspects in life. Don’t combine it with the will to control because it becomes that much more difficult to simply let go and let things run its course. Now, waiting seems passive, however; it’s an aggressive act of submission. Some things in life require you to wait such as negotiations, the best air far prices, housing markets, shoe sells and beyond lol, while other things require you to keep pushing forward. In this post, I will share with you the top five things you should not wait on as you live life in purpose.

1. The Perfect Time

What is the perfect time and how will we ever know when the perfect time presents itself? Waiting for the perfect moment to do anything can breed a sense of procrastination and cause you to prolong processes that should be moving along steadily. When we wait for the perfect time, we are waiting for a time that may never present itself. It’s not to say you shouldn’t properly prepare for whatever it is you’re planning for, but you shouldn’t prolong the process once the planning is complete.

The perfect time to do anything is right when God leads you to do it. It can be the scariest thing starting something you’ve never done before, but you have to be willing to just start and learn as you grow. This can get into the fear of not wanting others to see you as less than the best. Courageous people don’t fear the opinion of man, they stay true to what it is they have been called to do. So, be inspired to not wait for the perfect time, and to let the perfect time be right when you are lead to do the very thing God wants you to do.

2. People

Waiting for people can cause you to miss out on the very thing you’ve always wanted to do. Waiting for people can look like wanting to go to the movies, but not having anyone to go with. So you forfeit your time at the movies until the opportunity presents itself for someone to accompany you. It may be fun to enjoy activities etc with other people, however; if you spend your time waiting for people, you will never truly experience what it’s like to enjoy your own company.

You can wait for people to want to explore a new city with you, or try a food you’ve never tried before; but if they don’t want to do it, they’re not going to do it. Why should you wait for someone to do what it is you want to do. It’s a beautiful thing to get to a place where you can do what it is you truly want to do without waiting on someone to do it with you. There’s beauty in confidently spending time with yourself without it being attached to anything or anyone. Be inspired to learn yourself, learn what you like and dislike and start spending quality time with yourself. It’s time to do the things you’ve always wanted to do.

3. Love

Finally, here it is. On the list as the number three thing you should not wait on is LOVE. If you’ve ever watched the Hillary Duff version of Cinderella, then you may recognize her famous quote. “Waiting for you (love) is like waiting for rain in a drought,” and my 10 year old self felt that then, and I still feel it now. She was right. When you wait for love it never comes, instead; you should be love, and give love to others. Waiting for something to happen to you causes time to be missed. There are things in life that we don’t have to wait for, and love is one of them. There is just as much enjoyment in giving love as there is in receiving love, and when you make a habit of giving love you are more likely to receive love in return or better yet, recognize the love you already have been receiving yet have been blinded to.

It’s like the beauty of giving. When you freely give what has been given to you- whether gifts, time, resources etc. you are in turn able to receive more. Those whose hands are closed to giving, are also closed to receiving and that includes love.

There is beauty in the wait, and there is wisdom in knowing when to wait and when not to wait. I hope this post inspires you to not wait on what is not waiting for you. Share your thoughts on what you think is good to wait on compared to what is not. Can’t wait to talk with you soon.
